Mindless Shopping

Feeling empty, but my basket is full
Items upon items, in several colours too
‘You might also like’ these suggestions
I think to myself, don’t mind if I do

When you’re down, shop for a pick me up
But once you start, it’s hard to stop
Still, tis the season to treat yourself
So as they say, shop til you drop

Energy is low, but impulse still high
Mindless scrolling through endless pages
Don’t need anymore, yet can’t hurt to look
The addiction grows steadily in stages

Mind is absent, focus on my present
Retail is a form of therapy of course
Checkout mentally and literally
Until it hits you, buyer’s remorse
